4-H Camp Whitewood is proud to have been providing an enriching and memorable camp experience for over 85 years. We welcome over 1,000 campers from all over northeastern Ohio to take part in our camping programs each year.
Staff Benefits:

Weekly Stipend: Dependent on Certifications and Experience ($400 base pay)

Free Room and Board - Meals Included during active camp sessions

*Almost Every Friday night off (after 9pm) through Sunday afternoon

Qualifications:

At least 18 years old by June 1, 2027

Availability as following:
-
Mandatory Staff Training June 1st - 5th, 2027

In 2027: Program positions offered through August 6th, 2027

In 2027: Day Camp positions offered through August 13th, 2027

New for 2027: Willingness to serve in cabins overnight from July 11th - August 6th (breaks & days off included).

Previous experience working with youth preferred

Complete a background check

Certification required for following positions (we can assist in gaining certifications prior to camp):

Lifeguard: Waterfront Lifeguarding and First Aid

Boating: Waterfront Lifeguarding/First Aid OR Canoe/Kayak Instructor Certification

Shooting Sports: Basic Archery & Rifle Instructor, NRA or 21+ Years or Older 4-H Shooting Sport Instructor Certification

Office Assistant (Closed):
Assist in the daily operation of summer camp, from family communications to enrollment processing. Assist with financial, data management, and marketing components of camp. Responsible for completing daily tasks and assignments individually and in a team setting while providing consistent customer service and contributing to the smooth operation of the camp. This is a 40hr/week seasonal position with potential for part time extension through the year.

Food Service & Hospitality Coordinator (Closed):
Provide positive oversight and coordinate use of all kitchen and dining hall services. Assist in selecting, training, supervising, and scheduling of kitchen staff. Responsibilities include meal planning, ordering, organization, and ensuring quality, on-time meal delivery. Coordinate cleaning of common areas on a regular basis and cabin/program areas on a seasonal basis. This is a 40hr/week seasonal position with potential for part time extension through the year.

Kitchen Assistant (Open):
Help prepare meals and snacks for camp guests, maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Kitchen Assistants can work 12-hour days, 7:00 am-7:00 pm & which includes 2-hour break midday, or in half-day shifts. Scheduling is flexible, March through October.

Facilities Cleaning Crew (Open):
Provide daily routine cleaning detail of camp restrooms and common areas and other areas as assigned. The Facilities Cleaning Crew ensures bathroom products are stocked at all times and that facilities are routinely kept sanitary for our guests. These employees typically work 2-3 hours a day, although some days may require more time. Weekend time available. Scheduling is flexible, March through October.

Health Care Provider (Open):
Provide health care to camp's summer campers and staff, including the dispensing of prescription medications, first aid, and emergency response. The Health Care Provider ("Camp Nurse") assists during camp Check-In and Check-Out, communicating with parents, campers and staff. This person also manages the supply levels in the Health Lodge. This position is scheduled by the week in June, July and August. Willingness to stay at camp overnight (Sunday evening through Saturday morning) is preferred.
