Facilities Manager (Filled):

The Facilities Manager for camp is responsible for maintaining the facilities of this 227-acre campus. The Facilities Manager will work with the Executive Director in developing and executing the maintenance of the Camp Whitewood facility. The Facilities Manager may be required to be present at camp during evening and/or weekend activities or during emergencies. Work hours will be determined in consultation with the Executive Director.

Office Assistant (Filled): 

 

If you are an outgoing, detail-oriented individual interested in supporting youth development in a fun environment at Summer Camp, we would like to talk to you about our open Office Assistant position. Please include a description of your customer service experience and interest in working in a camp setting in your application.

Position Purpose:

Office Assistant assists with financial, data management, marketing, and customer service aspects of the camp office. Office Assistants are responsible for completing daily tasks and assignments individually and in a team setting while providing consistent customer service and contributing to the smooth operation of the camp.

This is a 40 hour/week seasonal position with potential for part-time extension through the year. Part-time extension to include office work with additional hours available for rental/special event promotion/planning/hosting during the off-season months.

Food Service Coordinator (Open):

If your interests include working in a fun and welcoming foodservice environment, contact Camp Whitewood to apply for the Food Service and Hospitalities Coordinator position. This position coordinates all aspects of food service for up to 200 in a family-style setting. Must have experience in bulk food preparation, kitchen management, and possess (or obtain) current food service certification. Food Service Coordinator Job Description

 

Health Care Provider (Open): 

 

Provide health care to camp's summer campers and staff, including the dispensing of prescription medications, first aid, and emergency response.  The Health Care Provider ("Camp Nurse") assists during camp Check-In and Check-Out, communicating with parents, campers and staff.  This person also manages the supply levels in the Health Lodge.  This position is scheduled by the week in June, July and August.  Willingness to stay at camp overnight (Sunday evening through Saturday morning) is preferred.

Kitchen Assistant (Open): 

 

Help prepare meals and snacks for camp guests, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.  Kitchen Assistants usually work a 12-hour day, 7:00 am-7:00 pm, which includes 2-hour break midday.  Scheduling is flexible, March through October.

Facilities Cleaning Crew (Open): 

 

Provide daily routine cleaning detail of camp restrooms and common areas and other areas as assigned.  The Facilities Cleaning Crew ensures bathroom products are stocked at all times and that facilities are routinely kept sanitary for our guests.  These employees typically work 2-3 hours a day, although some days may require more time.  Scheduling is flexible, March through October.

Camp Whitewood is hiring creative, responsible, and kid-oriented individuals for summer Day Camp and Resident Camp programs. Join the effort to give kids an excellent summer experience at camp. Staff Benefits:

Weekly Stipend: Dependent on Certifications and Experience ($300 base pay)

Free Room and Board - including meals during camp

7-12 week Commitment

Every Saturday night off through Sunday afternoon

       (some Friday nights off after 9pm)

Internship Credit Available

Valuable work experience

Qualifications:

At least 18 years old, or high school graduate

Availability May 22 - August 11  (Dates vary by positions)

Previous experience working with youth preferred

Complete a background check

Current certification for these positions:

  • Lifeguard: Waterfront Lifeguarding and First Aid

  • Boating: Waterfront Lifeguarding/First Aid OR Canoe certification

  • Shooting Sports:  Basic Archery Instructor, NRA (contact us for specifics)
